Welll after searching for nearly an hour to find a decent lego music video, i ended up setteling with this video out of the few the creator made. I like this song the best, and the stop motion ( i think its stop motion anyway) is relatively cool, yet rather straight forward and simple.

construction equipment part 2

For this part of the two part series that i am bringing you, i am going to show you the other side of dancing construction equipment. This side has no real drivers, no real equipment, and no real equipment. Now you may be asking how this could be possible if there are no real drivers or equipment. The answer is simple. The creator of the following video is made by a graphic engineer who needed a final project and this is what he came up with. I think that the piece is a brilliant video and project.

Just for your entertainment, and because i doubt anyone has actually seen this in real life, i am showing you a different kind of art, one that is a bit more interactive. These videos are all about construction equipment, but instead of the normal work they would be doing, they are actually dancing to a set piece of music and performing, in some cases, very hard maneuvers that only a skilled operator could perform. Enjoy.

The gallery exhibition that is currently on display in the foreman gallery is a very interesting ensemble put together by Darcy Dodge and Dominique Thomas. Dominique put together a photo collection that she titled A Whole New Ballgame, which she set up using photos from her internship over the summer with the Oneonta Tigers as the team photographer this past summer. Her pictures include the team and their activities but also the fans who come to the game. These pictures of fans had kids on railings watching and smiling, to fans competing in miny games before and during the game. She also captured so more famous people, such as the mayor of Oneonta, Dick Miller enjoying food from stella Luna’s who had been doing a special advertising special. Darcy Dodge and her presentation Reflections in a Teacup. This presentation entirely made of teacups that are the same size. The cups range in colors, which are yellows, reds, blue, green, and orange. Not all of these cups were whole and intact. In fact, the ones on the wall were actually cut in half. There were some that were whole, and these were standing by themselves on the floor on top of pedestals.

Dominque’s photos are unique in that they capture split second emotions and scenes that are now being shared with the people who visit the show. I liked the set up overall and the pictures were similar but each one had its one identity and feeling. Even though all the pictures were of the same limited subjects, the pictures themselves are still able to have diversity.

As for Darcy’s presentation, I was not sure what the ulterior goal was, or the meaning she was going for. The pieces themselves were created to be very realistic, and the painting was very cool. Other than those two things, I was unsure and not very impressed with the display.

art report #2

I went to this art exhibit back in December, so I don't really remember what it was all about. According to the brochure, which I had to look up online because I can't find the one I had.

Anyway, the collection is from the sisters of Margaret and Gwedoline Davies, who inherited the fortune of their father. This fortune helped to expand their interests in the art world that they had grown up in. The collection started off with some rather conservative purchase from Joseph Mallord and William Turner. They then went onto art of the vanguard with purchases from Jean Francois Millet and Honore Daumier.

The core of the collection is Impressionism art, with artists such as Monet, Cezanne and Manet, and Picasso. The last part of the collection is from the post-impressionist era, with artists such as Pierre Bonnard and Vincent Van Gogh, along with Augustus John and Walter Sickert.

Each part of the collection was cool and interesting. My favorite was the Water lilies by Claude Monet because the colors worked together to give you the feel of a pond in the early spring and summer mornings when the sun just starts to kiss the water with its light.

Overall the collection and show were very interesting and I really enjoyed seeing the collection and all the paintings in it.

fish vs brick wall..........

This is cool. All i did was type sculpture and it was one of the first things to pop up as a result. it looks as if the fish was actually jumping through the wall and the detail of the bricks moving away is amazing!!!

This is a video i have been trying to find online for ages. I had it saved on my youtube account, but it was pulled down over a year ago. My brother found this video about 2 hours ago. The video is based on stop animation and is a very cool video. Enjoy!

this image is one that could be considered Risque, and because if that label, it has not been fully explored in the art world and seen in the popular light. most Risque is kept in rooms of people who have them painted, and in the reign of kings and queens, was actually considered porn and hung in the bedrooms of the royalty.Talk about a good imagination huh? So, now from the depths of the area we call the web, i bring you this picture. Enjoy.

This is another cool and yet interesting piece. when i was surfing, i happened to come upon thi simage as a thumbnail, and was curious as to what it was. upon clicking on it, i discvoered this (i am still trying to figure out how he jumped that high) :

I received this site from my aunt a couple of days ago, and it is a very good application of using technology to show a 360 degree view of a certain area and produce it on a computer screen.

cool looking picture

i found this picture online and thought it was really cool. i like the flying antique car myself. the way that the artist incorporated the mix of technologies, like equipping the car with a set of sails that are used on ships from another century.

This statue can be found at Morrisville State College and is representative of both the athletic teams and of the large equine program offered there.
